Dental veneers are custom-made thin shells that are used to improve the appearance of the teeth. They adhere to the front surface of the teeth and are made of materials that look and feel like natural teeth. Veneers can be used when:
- Your teeth are stained or discolored
- Your teeth are crooked or misshapen
- Your teeth have spaces between them
- Your teeth are broken or chipped
How it's done
Typically, two visits to our Waterbury CT cosmetic dental office will be needed to place your veneers. At the first visit, we will prepare the teeth for the veneer, which will include a slight trimming of the tooth and impression taking. We will give these impressions to our lab technicians and they will create your permanent veneer. Depending on how much tooth structure was removed in preparation, we may place a temporary veneer for you.
At your second appointment, the temporary will be removed and the new veneer will be checked for fit and color match before bonding to the teeth is completed.
